Safe-T-Bands

What are safe-T-bands?
Safe-T-bands are "breakaway" neck bands which are used to identify swimmers and non swimmers in an aquatic facility. Safe-T-bands are plastic 16" bands that are worn around the neck for better visibility and come in colors Red, Yellow and Green.

What is the "stop light system"?
Participants are swim tested to assess if they are "deep water safe" and given an appropriate safe-T-band based upon their skill level.

Below is an example of color allocation.
Green: deep water safe (no restrictions)
Yellow: some restrictions (may or may not be used depending on facility)
Red: Caution...restricted to shallow ends of the pool only

*One option would be to only use GREEN and those passing the appropriate swim test and issued a GREEN safe-T-band would be the only swimmers allowed in the deep areas of the pool.
